Socratic builds a task management system that uses data and data science to provide insights and improve how developers, team leads and engineering executives work. The product runs behind the scenes, tracking developer activity and surfacing metrics and recommendations while letting engineers work normally. It integrates with tools such as GitHub to automate workflows and extract data on code reviews, merge times and other development lifecycle signals. The company has been operating in stealth and ran a private beta with roughly 10 design partners; it is opening a public beta today and plans a full launch next year. Socratic has six employees and intends to add four more by the end of the year. Financially, the company secured a $3 million seed investment in May 2020 to fund product development and growth.
