SoDash is a web-based tool that helps organisations manage their activity on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook. It is a spin-out from AI specialists Winterwell and its technical team is staffed by former AI researchers from the University of Edinburgh. Early development was supported by Scottish Enterprise’s SMART:Scotland programme and the University of Edinburgh’s EPIS programme. The Sandpit, a London-based sales accelerator, has taken a 25% equity stake in SoDash in a deal of up to £500,000 payable over the next two years. The Sandpit also holds exclusive commercial rights to the product and an option to purchase a further stake, enabling SoDash’s team to focus on product development. The arrangement is intended to wrap sales and marketing around the product to generate revenues rather than immediate venture fundraising.
