Soho.com.au is a Sydney-based AI-powered real estate discovery app founded in 2018 by Jonathan Lui. Its core product, PropertyMatch, is a ranking and scoring engine likened to “Tinder for real estate” that continually searches and personalises property matches. The app operates across all Australian capital cities and key regional areas, listing more than 150,000 properties and working with over 20,000 active real estate agents monthly. Soho says it has connected users with more than six million recommended properties and is free to use for agents, their clients and registered users. Financially, the company became cashflow positive earlier in 2023 and has raised more than $8 million in capital since inception. A $750,000 equity investment from Feedback Ventures has boosted Soho’s valuation to $20 million. The company plans a larger Series B in 2024 to accelerate its presence across Australia and other markets and will use the new capital to fast-track growth and launch partnerships and AI products. Soho is a proptech app that enables homebuyers, sellers, renters and agents to communicate in a chat-like interface and access a suite of listing and property-management tools. Homeowners and investors can track documents and basic investment metrics such as capital gains, yields and strata fees. Buyers can search the platform’s network of properties beyond major listing sites, and renters can chat, apply online and will soon be able to track applications and pay bonds/payments through the app. Agents get tools to broaden networks, capture passive interest, and manage buyer and renter interest with instant chat and CRM integrations. Since launching last year, Soho has onboarded over 5,000 properties and listings with an estimated value of more than $3.5 billion. The company plans to double its software development team and focus on mobile/web apps and CRM integrations to accelerate market penetration.
