Overview
SolarSpace is a Chinese solar cell and module manufacturer founded in 2010. The company reports it currently has 35 gigawatts of cell and module production capacity, five manufacturing bases and seven smart factories across Xuzhou, Suqian, Chuzhou and Cambodia. It secured a total of 3 billion yuan ($442.5 million) in Series B and pre-IPO funding. Proceeds will be used to build manufacturing facilities for N-type solar cells and to fund R&D of laminated solar cells. SolarSpace plans to expand production to reach 56 gigawatts of cell and module capacity in 2023. The raise comes as Chinese photovoltaic firms benefit from rising European demand amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict and strong growth in China’s module exports.
