Founded by former American Express executives Gautam Kaushik and Pramod Mahanta and based in Gurugram, Solfin is a digital-first sustainable finance platform focused on rooftop solar, C&I renewable projects, solar supply chains and distributed clean energy solutions. The company commenced operations in August 2024 and rapidly scaled its distribution network to over 1,200 partners, including EPC firms, dealers, OEMs and manufacturers. Solfin reported crossing ₹100 crore in solar loan disbursals within nine months and turned profitable in its first full year of operations. It uses a proprietary underwriting engine and digital processes that the company says have shortened residential loan approval timelines from weeks to days and reduced turnaround for complex C&I transactions. Solfin is backed by Waaree Group and has expanded international partnerships, including a co-lending arrangement with a Japanese financial institution. The firm is exploring adjacent segments such as electric vehicle financing, battery energy storage systems and broader climate-tech financing as it expands geographically and across product lines.
