Solve Media converts website CAPTCHAs into marketing placements that require visitors to type short branded phrases instead of random words. Their CAPTCHA product both filters spam and serves marketer messaging; visitors can also solve marketing CAPTCHAs to skip video advertising. The company said it will use the new funding to expand internationally and hire more sales staff. A Form D with the SEC lists the raise at $5.65 million, while CEO Ari Jacoby told All Things D the amount is $6 million and the round is not yet closed. The company indicated the round could take on another $1 million before closing. Solve Media is headquartered in New York and has offices in Philadelphia, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
