Somatic
346 West 72nd Street Unit 2, New York, 10023, United States
Overview
Somatic’s first product is a large, commercial restroom-cleaning robot that is trained via a VR simulation to teach the device where to spray, wipe, vacuum and blow-dry. The robot uses a variety of sensors, including lidar, to navigate predictable, ADA-compliant commercial restrooms and can open doors and ride elevators to move between floors. After cleaning a restroom it returns to recharge and refill chemicals and is designed to accomplish about eight hours of cleaning per day. The company targets high-traffic locations such as airports, casinos and office buildings and plans to lease the robot for around $1,000 per month after a trial phase. Somatic has a handful of customers already, including a FAANG company, and is a small geographically dispersed team ostensibly based in the New York area. The founders are CEO Michael Levy and CTO Eugene Zasoba, and the team is seeking a more permanent home as it scales operations.
