Something Navy is a DTC fashion brand founded by Arielle Charnas that began as a blog roughly ten years ago. The brand sells recurring drops of apparel, planning 10–20 core styles every 30–40 days. Leadership was strengthened with the hiring of Matthew Scanlan, co‑founder and former CEO of cashmere brand Naadam, as Something Navy’s CEO. The company reports strong consumer engagement—Charnas has about 1.2 million Instagram followers—and achieved $4 million in sales from a Nordstrom collection debut that temporarily crashed the retailer’s e-commerce site. Something Navy raised $10 million in a recent funding round at a valuation of nearly $45 million. The company says the new funding will be used to accelerate growth and to build out a network of brick-and-mortar stores.
