Somethings
20 Jay Street, Brooklyn, Brooklyn, New York, 11201, United States
Overview
Founded in 2021, Somethings provides on-demand, HIPAA-compliant peer-to-peer mental-health support for youth aged 13–26. The platform matches users with Certified Peer Specialist mentors—young adults who have lived experience with mental-health challenges and are professionally trained to offer guidance before issues escalate. AI is used behind the scenes to help mentors with engagement tools, safety screening, and rapid clinical escalation, while never interacting directly with youth. Somethings distributes its service through partnerships with Medicaid programs, state agencies, schools, health plans, and community organizations. To date, it has supported more than 11,000 teens across 200+ schools and 250+ community groups, reporting a 65% reduction in depression and a 60% reduction in suicidal ideation among participants. The company is headquartered in Brooklyn and plans to use new capital to broaden partnerships, enhance its product, expand mentor training and clinical oversight, and grow its team. Prior to the Series A, the company had already secured backing from General Catalyst and Tusk Ventures, although earlier funding amounts were not disclosed.
