Sonic
650 Townsend Street, Suite 650, San Francisco, CA, 94103, United States
Overview
Sonic is the first gaming-focused atomic SVM layer-2 launched on Solana, developed by GameFi infrastructure firm Mirror World Labs. Its core product, the Sonic protocol powered by HyperGrid, enables developers to deploy custom Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) chains and offers a sandbox environment, customizable gaming primitives, and extensible data types. The stack is marketed as delivering the fastest on-chain gaming experience and supports deployment of new game engines and virtual machines via the HyperGrid Framework. Sonic plans to use the new capital for growth initiatives, grants, and acceleration programs to attract and support game developers moving to the Sonic SVM. The team says it has supported hundreds of Web3 games with monetization and listing to date. Financially, the company has raised $12 million in this Series A, following a $4 million seed in early 2022, bringing total funding to $16 million.
