Overview
Founded in 2017 after years of backyard and laboratory experimentation, Israel-based Soos Technology has built an incubation platform that uses proprietary sound frequencies, temperature, humidity and CO₂ controls to trigger sex reversal in ovo, producing significantly more female layer chicks. The system combines operation-and-control software, a multi-sensor data suite that monitors each egg, and specially designed acoustic incubation cells. Laboratory trials have achieved up to 80% female hatch rates, while industrial pilots with 4,800-egg incubators currently reach about 60%. Target customers are commercial hatcheries owned by large poultry integrators, giving the company a B2B business model. Soos has 10 full-time employees and is in the pilot stage ahead of full commercialization. To date it has raised a total of $3.2 million, including $400,000 in pre-seed funding and a $1 million Grow-NY competition prize, which will finance new hires and the creation of a poultry research hub in New York.
