SoundCure develops and commercializes a novel acoustic therapy that uses customized tones and sounds to reduce the perception of tinnitus. Its proprietary audio stimuli are designed to be presented at a softer level than a patient’s tinnitus to lower overall sound burden and reduce or eliminate ringing. The therapy was pioneered by Dr. Fan-Gang Zeng at UC Irvine with research funded by the American Tinnitus Association. SoundCure plans an aggressive commercialization that includes launching a new medical device capable of delivering its suite of tinnitus therapies and partnering with audiologists, physicians, and patient advocacy groups. The company also intends to leverage web-based technologies to treat patients and provide tinnitus solutions. SoundCure closed $3 million in funding led by Allied Minds to support commercialization.
