Soundsafe Care is a medtech spin‑off from the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, founded in May 2022 by Andrea Mariani and Laura Morchi. The company develops an innovative therapeutic device that combines robotics and focused ultrasound to perform non‑invasive surgical treatments for tumors. The recent equity financing will support further technological development of that device and the expansion of the team with targeted hires. Part of the capital is earmarked for validation and certification activities, first targeting veterinary applications and subsequently human use. Soundsafe previously received an earlier investment from RoboIT in February (amount not disclosed). The startup also won four awards at Meet in Italy for Life Sciences – Startup Breeding 2023, including the BacktoWork Special Award, InnovUp award, EIT Health Special Award, and RP Legal & Tax Special Award.
