SourceClear is led by founder and CEO Mark Curphey and is based in San Francisco, CA, with an additional office in Singapore. SourceClear secured $10m in a Series A financing led by Index Ventures with participation from Storm Ventures. The service can also scan GitHub repositories and the team plans to add support for Visual Studio and JetBrains IDEs. Product road map includes letting companies set their own security rules for developers, releasing server agents to alert on newly discovered vulnerabilities in production code, and integrating with continuous-integration servers to stop vulnerable code from being deployed. The company emphasizes embedding security in developer tools to deliver real-time fixes and contextual information. SourceClear's team and advisory board are composed of security veterans from Microsoft, McAfee/Foundstone and other firms, and the company announced a $1.5M seed raise from a group of investors. The platform targets reducing the time between vulnerability discovery and remediation by operating within existing developer workflows.
