Overview
Pi Charging's core product is the Pi Charger, a tabletop device that wirelessly charges multiple compatible devices placed around it within roughly a one-foot radius, eliminating the need to place devices on a pad. The company disclosed it closed an $11.4 million Series A to support expansion and product development. Foundry Group led the round and Silicon Valley Bank joined as a new investor; returning investors include Uncork, Nextview Ventures, ENIAC, and E14 Fund. Pi had previously raised around $3M. The company plans to ship the Pi Charger in 2018 at a price point under $200 and expects to double its team from eight people within about eight months. Pi is also working on a second wireless-power product built around the same underlying technology.
