Hola CDN is a Tel Aviv–based video distribution network that uses a global network of dedicated servers running P2P technology combined with client-side code to stream video from multiple sources in parallel. The system streams video to viewers at high utilization levels and leverages servers in lower-cost regions. The company is already in use with 12 video publishers participating in a pilot and planned general availability in Q4 2015. Hola CDN closed a $17M Series C and has raised $30M to date. A portion of the Series C consisted of stock purchased directly from employees. The company intends to use the funds to grow its engineering and product teams, increasing headcount from 75 to 200 employees over the next 12 months.
