Founded in 2019, SPeak develops JPort, a new-graduate hiring and career information platform that links foreign and bilingual Japanese students at Japanese universities with mid-sized to large domestic and international employers. The service offers bilingual (English/Japanese) content and a two-way online matching system, helping firms address labor shortages and drive workplace globalization. Leveraging the data accumulated through its career business, the company plans to partner with various service providers to build infrastructure that visualizes each young foreign worker’s potential and credit risk, thereby facilitating access to essential services. SPeak has been recognized with the HR Technology Awards’ “Notable Startup” prize for its innovative approach to Japan’s labor challenges. The firm currently employs four people and is headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo. To date, it has raised a ¥400 million pre-Series A round and maintains a paid-in capital of ¥133 million, providing runway to expand sales, customer success, and product development.
