Speakeasy is developing an API infrastructure platform that uses AI to validate and enhance OpenAPI specs, generate complete APIs, produce SDKs in popular languages, and publish them to package managers. The company launched with two initial tools: Managed SDKs, which turn an OpenAPI spec into SDKs and documentation, and a beta feature that creates Terraform providers from OpenAPI specs. Managed SDKs are generally available and update automatically whenever the spec changes. Speakeasy aims to expand into a broader platform of features to simplify how developers ship and consume APIs. The startup currently has nine employees and is hiring engineers with a remote-friendly philosophy to access more diverse talent. Financially, Speakeasy emerged from stealth after securing seed funding following an earlier pre-seed raise.
