SpeakUp

Tokyo, Japan

Overview

SpeakUp has developed a SaaS collaboration tool designed to capture and curate team input in private company spaces where anyone can post ideas and suggest solutions. The platform reaches consensus through voting and enables decision makers to approve, amend, or deny posts transparently. SpeakUp began developing its technology about 11 months earlier and was inspired by CEO Ray Gillenwater’s experience as a managing director at BlackBerry in Australia. Anyone can sign up for free, but the service’s utility increases with groups of 12 or more; enterprise/SMB pricing is $89 per month and groups up to 100 users pay $249 per month. SpeakUp counts customers including Box, PayPal, Lyft, Adobe, Dropbox, John Deere, and Lexus, and the CEO estimates a roughly $1.5 billion market for internal decision-making tools. The company has raised $700,000 in financing.
