Spectral provides a developer-first DevSecOps platform that finds and protects against security mistakes in code, configuration, and other developer assets. Its hybrid engine combines hundreds of detectors with AI to find, prioritize and block coding mistakes. The product monitors and crawls developer-facing systems such as Slack, npm, Maven, log providers and other sources often omitted from active threat modeling. It can scan any programming language, configuration files and other assets using machine-learning-based analysis, and users can build custom detectors via a purpose-built query language called SPEQL. Founded in mid-2020 and based in Tel Aviv, the company has a team of 15 and already protects millions of lines of code for a significant base of customers, including publicly-listed companies.
