Spera provides a SaaS-based digital office platform that helps independent workers track work tasks, generate invoices from tasks, and collect payments. The company targets freelancers and independent contractors with business management and payments tools. Led by CEO Greg Pesci, Spera offers an integrated workflow from task tracking to invoicing and payment collection. On July 27, 2017, Spera raised $2m in a Series A financing. Medici Ventures, the blockchain-focused subsidiary of Overstock.com, acquired a majority of Spera’s preferred stock as part of the investment. As part of the deal, Steven Hopkins, Medici Ventures’ COO and general counsel, will join Spera’s board of directors.
