SPEX Group, founded in 2009 and led by CEO Jamie Oag, provides oil and gas services including explosives, cutting, punching and abandonment capabilities. It helps clients design, develop, test and manufacture both energetics and non-energetics technologies for a range of applications. The company employs more than 60 staff and has a presence in the North Sea. SPEX has worked in more than 20 countries and recently opened operations in the US, Mexico and Saudi Arabia. It intends to use new funding to expand in international markets and to develop its technology. The company received a £5m investment and accompanying banking facilities to support its growth.
