Launched in 2023 by Nicholas Rudder and Adrian Sarstedt, Sphere offers an end-to-end platform that helps globally scaling companies stay compliant with indirect taxes. Its AI engine, TRAM, ingests and codifies tax rules in every jurisdiction, generates determinations with cited reasoning, and feeds a real-time tax engine applied to each transaction. The product can be deployed in under 24 hours and integrates with major billing systems such as Stripe (one of only three vendors with a native Stripe Billing and Checkout integration) and Campfire. Sphere is directly connected to more than 100 tax authorities worldwide, enabling automated registrations, monitoring of exposure, return generation, and remittance of funds. Current customers include Lovable, Replit, and ElevenLabs. The company targets Series B-to-IPO stage businesses with significant cross-border sales. With fresh funding, Sphere plans to deepen integrations with additional tax authorities, grow its AI and engineering teams, and build an international sales organization.
