Spirox is a Menlo Park, California–based medical device company developing a novel, minimally invasive system for use by Ear, Nose and Throat physicians and plastic surgeons. The system is intended to treat the more than three million American patients who see a physician each year for nasal obstruction. Led by CEO Duke Rohlen, the company plans to use proceeds from its latest financing to scale the business. Spirox closed a $45m Series C round to support that growth. The round was led by KKR with participation from new investor HealthQuest Capital and existing shareholders Aisling Capital, Aperture Venture Partners and Venrock. As part of the transaction, Jim Momtazee of KKR will join Spirox’s Board of Directors. The Series B brings strategic investors onto the board as Venrock Partner Camille Samuels and Aisling Partner Aftab Kherani will join the board alongside Stacy Enxing Seng. Existing investors Aperture Venture Partners, Correlation Ventures and Western Technology Investment participated in the round.
