Spline provides a collaborative, web-based 3D editor that enables designers to build interactive, production-ready 3D content and ship it natively across web, mobile and spatial devices without code. The platform recently added Android support, becoming the first 3D design tool to enable cross-platform shipping across both Android and Apple ecosystems, and expanded features with a real-time API, WebHooks, and AI integration for interactive experiences. Spline offers AI generation tools alongside familiar editor features like vector editing, motion, physics, particles, and real-time collaboration. The company says its user base has doubled over the past 12 months, its community has created more than 7 million scenes, and millions of creators use the platform globally. Spline emphasizes simplifying the creative process for designers so they need not use complex game engines or hand-code Three.js to deliver 3D content. The product roadmap and recent hires aim to bring more AI capabilities directly into designer workflows to accelerate production-ready 3D content creation. Spline is a no-code, browser-based design tool that lets users create 3D objects, edit materials, add interactivity (including game controls), animate, run real-time physics and export assets as images, GIFs or embeddable web objects. The platform supports collaboration, commenting and working from scratch or pre-made objects. The company has added AI-style transfer and AI texture tools and is exploring prompt-driven content creation with large language models as a next step toward generative 3D. Alejandro Leon launched Spline in 2020 and the company was accepted into Y Combinator’s 2021 batch. Spline has a 20-person team and more than 1 million creators on the platform. It competes with incumbent tools such as Blender and Cinema 4D.
