Sports Impact Technologies is developing a lightweight, behind-the-ear sensor and companion app that monitors head accelerations during play and sends real-time alerts to coaches, medics, or officials. The device is intended to enable immediate decisions about removing players for concussion assessment and to reduce undetected concussions at all levels of sport. Founded in 2022 by Eóin Tuohy and based in Dublin, the startup plans beta pilots across rugby, American football, soccer, hockey, and GAA beginning September 2025 and aims for a full commercial launch in early 2026. The recent funding will support the final stages of product development and the rollout of athlete beta testing. The company has previously participated in Enterprise Ireland’s New Frontiers Programme at TU Dublin, secured €100,000 in Pre-Seed Start Fund financing, is a client of the ESA Business Incubation Centre, and won a regional ‘Best New Start’ award at InterTradeIreland Seedcorn in 2024.
