SportsHero is an app for sports fans to make match predictions with virtual-currency wagers and to subscribe to or sell tips. The service is available on iOS and Android and borrows mechanics from the team’s earlier product, TradeHero. Users can earn money by charging $2/month for tips, with subscription revenue split 50/50 between SportsHero and the tipster. TradeHero’s user base and experience provide distribution leverage: TradeHero has over seven million registered users while SportsHero reported around 250,000 users. The team initially focused on football (soccer) and plans to add basketball, tennis and cricket for its target Asia‑Pacific market. The company is run by Dinesh Bhatia, who said he will devote roughly 90% of his time to SportsHero. SportsHero currently links to gambling sites but does not itself facilitate gambling.
