Founded in 2003 and based in Bangalore, SportzVillage operates as a sports management service provider under the Junior Sports and Services Pvt Ltd brand. The company offers sports marketing and events, sports infrastructure services, and sports ticketing, and runs three businesses: SportzConsult, EduSports and MeraSport. EduSports works with schools to provide physical education and sports programmes, while MeraSport is a technology initiative aimed at improving sports user experience via mobile, web and IPTV. The firm has a presence in five cities across India and is promoted by alumni of IIT, IIM and INSEAD; it is co-founded by Saumil Majumdar. SportzVillage previously raised funding from Seedfund in 2010. The company has taken external capital to support expansion across India and to scale its education and technology offerings.
