Spritz develops a proprietary speed-reading technology and is shipping a software development kit (SDK) to let developers embed its code into websites and apps. The company is launching the free SDK worldwide in a staged rollout, with website SDKs first followed by Android and iOS. More than 25,000 developers have signed up for the SDK and will begin receiving kits as the rollout proceeds. Spritz has raised $3.5 million in funding. Co-founder and CEO Frank Waldman demonstrated the technology on devices including an Android phone, a Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch, and Google Glass. The product is positioned for short-form reading use cases such as emails, text messages, instructions, news and magazine articles rather than long novels.
