Spry Health develops Loop, a clinical-grade wearable that continuously and noninvasively collects vital signs for remote patient monitoring. Loop pairs continuous physiological data with an analytics platform that pinpoints subtle changes and delivers actionable insights to healthcare organizations to guide care for chronically ill patients. The company plans to use new funding to commercialize Loop and expand deployments to thousands more patients. Spry Health was incubated at StartX in 2013 and is headquartered in Palo Alto; it has grown to 15 employees and reports deployments with hundreds of patients. To validate Loop, Spry conducted a pre-market evaluation with over 250 participants to prove clinical equivalence for blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, respiration, and CO2 monitoring. The company says it has developed machine-learning and expert-system algorithms over the past three years to contextualize continuous data and pinpoint signs of deterioration.
