SpyGlass Ophthalmics is a Mission Viejo, CA–based ophthalmic therapeutics company focused on developing novel treatments for chronic ophthalmic diseases. Its core offering is a platform technology originally developed at the Sue Anschutz-Rodgers Eye Center of the University of Colorado School of Medicine and spun out after a Series A led by New Enterprise Associates. The company was co-founded by Dr. Malik Y. Kahook, MD and Glenn Sussman, CEO. SpyGlass closed a $27.5M Series B to further advance development efforts of its platform technology. The financing was led by Vensana Capital with participation from existing investor New Enterprise Associates. As part of the round, NEA Principal Dr. Tak Cheung will join the SpyGlass board alongside Vensana Managing Partner Kirk Nielsen and Principal Cynthia Yee.
