SquadPal is a social community app founded in August 2020 to help remote teams combat isolation by offering competitions, challenges and games as a "chief happiness officer as a service." The founders launched the app in February 2021 after initially bootstrapping development. The product centers on a dedicated team feed of activities designed to keep non-work social interactions out of formal comms channels. SquadPal has signed up 2,000 users across more than 500 companies and reports that 72% of active users are more engaged and 70% see improved well-being at work. The startup says most current users are fully remote but plans to target hybrid and global teams as well. It intends to deepen integration with workplace tools (Slack, Teams, Zoom) and add more curated activities and content to encourage meaningful connection.
