SquareHub is launching an iOS app that functions as a private social network for families, focused on coordinating events and everyday logistics. The app combines shared calendars with event-specific messaging, photo sharing, and participation for children, aiming to keep the "constant narrative" of family life in one private place. SquareHub is free and currently iOS-only, though family members can participate without downloading the app. The company is working on an Android version planned for release this summer. SquareHub was born from founder Dave Cotter’s personal need to better coordinate his family and has operated stealthily for the past year. To date the company has raised $650,000 from Seattle-area angel investors.
