Overview
Stackla, Australian-founded and now San Francisco–based, builds software that helps marketers discover and utilise user-generated social media content for campaigns. Its platform counts clients such as Ford, Disney, and McDonald’s. The company recently launched a visual recognition tool to scan and categorise social media photos. To meet partner and customer needs it plans to build out its product team and create integrations with other software players. Stackla has hired Duncan Greenwood, formerly of Topsy and Apple Search, to strengthen its technology capabilities. Management says the fresh capital will bolster the company’s financial position and technology development to remain competitive. Stackla provides brands, publishers and events with a platform to curate and publish the best content from across the social web, powering experiences for live events, social commerce, social advertising, competitions, and data visualizations. The company was co-founded in 2012 by Damien Mahoney and Peter Cassidy. It operates with more than 40 employees across Sydney, London, San Francisco and New York and serves more than 500 customers. Stackla plans to grow operations globally, with a focus on the US, EMEA and Singapore. The company intends to invest in the product and increase marketing efforts using the new capital. The recent Series A strengthens its position to scale commercially and expand its international footprint. Stackla is an Australian social media aggregator that operates an enterprise software platform. Investors describe the company as having unique IP and strong global growth. Paul Naphtali of rampersand called it one of the very few successful enterprise software platforms in Australia. Stackla has closed a $3 million funding round led by Bailador Technology Investments, with initial backer rampersand contributing again. The company says the new capital will be used to help it continue to rapidly spread across the globe and capitalize on a major global trend. Stackla is a social content aggregation and publishing platform that enables marketers to monitor mentions across social networks, identify high-reach posts, and republish social content on websites and at point of sale. The company differentiates by offering deep integrations with CMS, CRM, e-commerce platforms, mobile apps and event/retail screens. Stackla is an official Twitter technology partner and launched two years ago. It has added clients including Jawbone, Comcast, Nvidia, Red Bull, Boost, Pandora, Lego, Target, Toyota, Nespresso, Eric Church, and Citibank. The company reports revenue growth of more than 30 percent per month. Proceeds from the new funding will be used to expand the team across San Francisco, Europe and Australia.
