Overview

Standard Cyborg develops mobile 3D scanning technology and a developer SDK for 3D scanning, analysis, and design. Its consumer Capture app uses the iPhone X front camera and laser scanning system to create live color point clouds that can be viewed in-app, in AR, or exported as USDZ. The Capture app launched on December 3 and serves as a showcase and "Trojan horse" for the company's developer-facing programming framework. The scanning SDK is slated to launch in January and is currently in beta with a few enterprise-level sporting goods companies. The founders are Jeff Huber and Garrett Spiegel, who are Y Combinator grads. The company raised a $2.4M seed from investors including Scott Banister and Trevor Blackwell.
