Overview

Stardust Solutions is a U.S.-based geoengineering startup focused on technology that deliberately reduces incoming solar radiation to mitigate climate change. Its core product is a newly formulated, low-cost particle—described by the company as “as safe as flour”—that can be mass-produced by the millions of tons and dispersed into the stratosphere to reflect sunlight back into space. The firm plans its first open-air test in spring 2026, releasing the particles from a modified aircraft at roughly 18 kilometres altitude to study cooling effects modeled on volcanic eruptions. Led by physicist and CEO Yanai Yedvab, who has also advised the Israeli government, Stardust positions its approach as both scalable and inexpensive compared with other climate interventions. The company acknowledges scientific debate around potential environmental and ethical risks but argues that urgent climate realities justify controlled experimentation. To finance development and testing, Stardust has secured a $60 million funding round, providing capital to advance particle manufacturing, regulatory engagement, and additional R&D. No public figures on revenue, customers, or commercial deployment timelines have been disclosed.
