Starton Therapeutics develops a proprietary transdermal platform intended to increase efficacy, reduce side effects and expand uses of approved drugs. The company has two clinical programs: STAR-LLD (a continuous-delivery lenalidomide formulation) which completed a phase 1 trial, and STAR-OLZ (a five-day olanzapine transdermal adhesive) which is entering phase 2. The FDA has cleared an investigational new drug application for STAR-OLZ in chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Starton holds patent protection for its programs through 2040 and 2041. The company has begun a strategic relationship with LOVE Pharma, which made an initial investment in Starton. Starton is also working with TRPL Laboratory to develop and support its transdermal delivery programs.
