Starvania is an award-winning Saudi indie game studio founded in 2022 by Meaad Aflah and Muslih Alzahrani. The studio developed the fantasy title Bahamut and the Waqwaq Tree, which launched on Steam in 2024 and earned multiple accolades. Its stated mission is to create richly imagined fantasy worlds with the creative depth to expand beyond games into comics, animation, and merchandise. Starvania secured a $1.1 million investment from Merak Capital and Impact46 to strengthen production capabilities and support PC and console development. The funding will also be used to recruit top Saudi talent, scale the studio’s development pipeline, and expand its team. The company aims to build globally competitive gaming IPs and further position Saudi Arabia as a rising force in the global games industry.
