State is building an opinion network that combines short-form posting with curated topical feeds (music, entertainment, sports, news, politics) and embedded opinion widgets on news sites. Its mobile apps will show opinion areas where users can post, comment, and endorse, and the product plans to analyze and categorize posts to connect like-minded individuals. The company plans an invite-only beta in the spring and a wider launch later in the year. State has raised $14 million to date.
