Founded in 1998 by Peter Duguid and Lorraine Porter, STATS Group is based in Kintore, near Aberdeen, and operates globally via branch offices and agencies in Canada, the Middle East and the Far East. The company manufactures proprietary isolation devices in-house that are used to plug and isolate live sections of pipelines to enable safe pump and valve replacement and general repair and maintenance. STATS is engineering-led and employs 130 people. The business recently received a £7.8m investment from Business Growth Fund and saw Lloyds Bank Wholesale Banking and Markets increase its working-capital funding.
