Stelexis Therapeutics is a New York City–based cancer therapeutics company that uses a proprietary drug discovery platform to identify and selectively target pre-cancerous stem and progenitor cells. Its platform identifies the earliest definable pre-cancerous stem and progenitor cells that lead to human primary and recurrent tumors for therapeutic intervention and relapse prevention. The company’s mission is to develop novel cancer drugs that selectively target these critical pre-cancerous events related to both hematopoietic and solid malignancies. Stelexis was established in 2017 by Deerfield together with scientific founders Ulrich Steidl, Evripidis Gavathiotis, Amit Verma, Roman Perez-Soler, and Derrick Rossi. Patrick Doyle serves as the founding CEO and Keren Paz is the CSO. The company intends to use the funds from the Series A to expand its proprietary platform to discover and selectively target pre-cancerous stem cells.
