StepJockey
53 Queens Drive, London, N4 2SZ, United Kingdom
Overview
StepJockey combines near-field technologies and behavioural economics to promote wellness in multi-storey office buildings by labelling stairs for calorie burn and gamifying stair use by staff. Launched in November 2013 by CEO Paul Nuki and based in London, the company has labelled more than 6,000 staircases in 90 countries. Its customer roster includes Deloitte, Disney, Barclays, KPMG, ITV, Jones Lang LaSalle, Lloyds of London and Legal & General, as well as hospitals, universities and public authorities. The business was seed-funded by the UK Department of Health via the Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI). StepJockey intends to use the newly raised funds to expand sales, marketing and product development operations.
