SterAssure Solutions has developed a patented technology for on-site disposal of medical waste that transforms biohazardous waste into solid waste as an alternative to incineration. The system is positioned as an environmentally safe solution to avoid hazardous emissions linked to traditional incineration. SterAssure is based in Greenville, South Carolina, and was accepted into SCRA’s SC Launch program as a Client Company in 2015. The company received a $40,000 Acceleration Grant in May 2017, which was used to complete beta testing. SCRA’s SC Launch has provided a $200,000 investment to aid growth and further development in the industry. CEO Peter Kapetanakos credited SC Launch with helping the company move forward in the market.
