STipe Therapeutics
Aarhus, Midtjylland, Denmark
Overview
Stipe Therapeutics was spun out from the Department of Biomedicine at the University of Aarhus in 2018 and is developing first-in-class drugs that target intracellular protein–protein interactions of the STING pathway. The company’s technology has shown it can increase the sensitivity of the innate immune system to detect small amounts of tumor DNA, potentially enabling synergistic immune responses alone or in combination with other anticancer therapies. Stipe has identified potential lead compounds that modulate the STING pathway in a novel way and has demonstrated preclinical antitumor activity and changes to the tumor microenvironment. Proceeds from the recent financing are intended to prepare the company for clinical development. The company’s work targets both hematological and solid tumors and contemplates use in combination with targeted therapies, immunotherapy, or radiation. Stipe is positioned to advance its lead programs toward clinical entry based on the described preclinical data and the new funding.
