Overview

Vehera Ltd, trading as Storage Made Easy, is a London, UK–based company led by CEO Jim Liddle that offers the Enterprise File Fabric, a secure content-management and data-collaboration layer that indexes and unites files across on-premise and cloud storage. The product does not provide storage but provides a unified interface plus pre-configured security, governance, compliance and audit policies for indexed data. It also includes a transparent, non‑proprietary file transfer acceleration feature for large media assets that works across both on‑premise and on‑cloud storage. Storage Made Easy serves blue‑chip enterprise customers across retail, banking and finance, healthcare, and government. The company has a strategic partnership with object storage vendor Cloudian, which resells the product alongside its Cloudian HyperStore. The company intends to use the new funds to continue expanding operations and its business reach. Storage Made Easy provides a File Fabric product that adds data security and policy-based compliance to enterprises' existing file stores. The File Fabric identifies files containing personal data, gives visibility into corporate data stores, and unifies on-site and cloud file assets; it also integrates with Object Storage products. The product is used with Object Storage and the company has a customer portfolio that includes one of the largest global social media companies, a global North American communications and technology leader, a large North American network broadcaster, UK government via the G-Cloud initiative, and other international government bodies. Storage Made Easy has reseller and vendor partnerships in the Object Storage space, including a growth reseller partnership with Cloudian and partnerships with RedHat and Canonical. Led by CEO and co-founder Jim Liddle, the company recently secured growth funding to support expansion. The new funding will primarily be spent on sales-related resources. SMEStorage provides cloud data access and management by presenting aggregated data from over 15 storage providers (including Amazon S3 and Google Docs) in a virtual cloud file system. The platform targets multiple operating systems and mobile devices, enabling individuals and businesses to move their fileserver to the cloud. It reports 120,000 consumer users and more than 350 small-business customers, including several large U.S. companies and one Fortune 50 company using its on-site Cloud Gateway appliance. SMEStorage says it achieved profitability in Q4 2010. The company runs its marketing and main development offices in the U.K. and maintains a development team in Ukraine. Recent capital will be used to grow the business, and Dan Stone has joined as a shareholder and advisor to the board.
