Storetasker is an online marketplace that connects Shopify merchants with vetted developers and other e-commerce experts. The product is now owned by the startup previously known as Lorem, which acquired Storetasker last year; the acquisition included the product and expert network but not the team. Over the past 10 months the combined company rebuilt the product from the ground up, producing a rebrand and a new end-to-end customer experience. Merchants describe projects and are typically matched to an expert within hours; Storetasker has vetted talent through more than 5,000 interviews and has been used by more than 30,000 Shopify brands including Boll & Branch, Chubbies, Aisle and Alpha Industries. The average project size is about $300 and use cases include custom designs, unique Shopify features and conversion optimization. Storetasker intends to remain focused on the Shopify ecosystem and sees room to grow given more than 1 million stores on the platform and $200 billion in total sales to date.
