Storia AI develops generative AI tools that let filmmakers and TV show producers visualize hypothetical prompts and map out creative vision in pre-production. The platform can process text, speech, images and video and evolved from an earlier prototype called Rick and Mortify that generated episode storyboards with dialogue and images. Founders Mihail Eric and Julia Turc bring NLP and ML backgrounds from Stanford, rideOS, Amazon Alexa, and Google BERT; the company launched in December. Storia trains its models on proprietary IP under license agreements and intends outputs to be used internally for pre-visualization to address copyright concerns. The startup has showcased digitally altered clips from Oscar-nominated films to demonstrate capabilities and plans to sell its software via subscription, targeting enterprise customers and some high-end consumers. Storia works mostly remotely from New York and California and has raised some venture capital while also winning a $250,000 pre-seed prize.
