Styletag is an Indian online fashion retailer and flash-sales site that curates clothing and accessories from emerging designers. Founded in 2012 by husband-and-wife team Yashodhara and Sanjay Shroff, the company grew out of their boutique chain ffolio. The site reported $3 million in gross merchandise volume last year and expects nearly $10 million this year, with plans to double or triple over the next five years. Styletag sells through its e-commerce platform and small brick-and-mortar kiosks, whose layout it has patented to resemble its website. The company plans to use new funding to increase inventory, hire senior-level employees, launch Android and iOS shopping apps in December, and expand pop-up stores across India. Styletag differentiates itself by being highly curated and focusing on younger labels, which the company says drives longer browsing times and repeat visits.
