Overview
Suborbital is the developer of the open-source Atmo project and related tooling for building scalable server applications using WebAssembly. Its stack includes the Reactr scheduler (a Go library) and Atmo at the core, which runs WebAssembly modules with near-native performance and sandboxing. The company launched the public beta of Suborbital Compute to let SaaS developers expose user-written functions safely via WebAssembly sandboxing. CEO and founder Connor Hicks began the work after building distributed functions systems and previously led R&D on the 1Password platform team. The team currently consists of four people and has started ramping up partnerships. Suborbital plans to scale its infrastructure and operations next year.
