Sudden Coffee is a San Francisco–based company pioneering a "no-brew" coffee experience that turns specialty beans into instant coffee. The company buys coffee from farmers and roasters they know and trust, processes beans into an instant product, and delivers it globally. It was co-founded by Barista Champion Kalle Freese and former McKinsey and Breadcrumb/Groupon alum Joshua Zloof. Sudden Coffee raised $2.7m in seed funding. The round was led by Charles River Ventures, with participation from Founder Collective, Lifeline Ventures and a group of angel investors. The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations.
